Continuing conversations on Transformation, we find ourselves in Abu Dhabi, captivated by the work and presence of Sarah Alagroobi , an artist, researcher, and educator, who takes us on a walk through her realm.
“In Arabic, the term for transformation is "تحوّل", derived from the root to change, turn, or move from one state to another. Its inherent flexibility is how I move through this world, whether as an artist, socio-anthropological researcher, author or educator. The skin I wear transcends physical forms and allows for possibilities to shift. The shifts are in the tools I use, a pen, a brush, and a recording device. Each part of my practice has a different way of existing, and with that, an accompanying garment to suit its comfortability.”
